Skyrider Flightpark News:

A new access road across the drainage has been built at Skyrider Ultralight Flightpark north of Billings.  This will not only provide access if anyone happens to land on the other side of the drainage (which has happened once or twice), but also opens up another section of land, in the Southwest corner of the Flightpark, to be developed into a camping area.   Future plans for developing the camping area include facilities (outhouse), firepit, and picnic table area.  Longterm, maybe a kamping kabin?

Also, Art and Sol would like to know if anyone out there would be interested in renting storage space for their chute at the Flightpark.  If there is interest, they will look into the possibility of building some storage units to rent out.  Or if anyone is interested in leasing space at the field to build their own storage unit, give them a call.  Art or Sol, 406-259-8039.

Billings Recreation Showcase

Riders in the Sky, Inc. (Sol Lovas, Billings) had a display space at the Billings Recreation Showcase in Billings February 25-27.  Riders and W MT PPC had their Buckeye 582 Dream Machines on display. This is the fifth year Riders has been in the show, which is sponsored by Tour America RV Center, in Billings.  Sky Portraits showed off some of Ken's wonderful aerial photos taken from his Buckeye 503 Dream Machine.  Riders actually sold their last year's trainer right off the floor!  Replacement trainer - 2000 model - is being built even now.

NAPPF News:

Sol Lovas was recently elected to the national Board of Directors of the North American Powered Parachute Federation, which is the powered parachute wing of ASC.  The Board is currently focusing on setting a time and place for the 2000 Nationals this year.  The agenda beyond that includes developing standardized training materials, standardized skills competitions, supporting the ARAC sport pilot proposal, and promoting the sport in general.

If you have any suggestions for items the NAPPF should consider getting involved with, or you would like to volunteer your time and efforts to help with any of the above, feel free to contact Sol at 406-252-7522 or sollovas@wtp.net.

Articles wanted!

If you have any information of interest to the powered parachute community, let us know about it, and we will add it to this page, and to our print newsletter (published irregularly several times a year).

If you know of any planned events to add to our Calendar of Events, let us know about those, too.  The more info we can spread around the PPC community, the better.
